Sally
Durie is a well-respected, award winning
Canadian artist. Her diverse subject
matter includes landscapes, still life
and floral subjects. She has sketched
and painted in many parts of the world,
but Canadian scenes using acrylic to
depict aesthetic realism is her
preference. She has been described as a
Canadian artist who captures both the
mood of the moment inviting the observer
to stop, gaze and become part of what
the artist saw and felt at a given place
and time. Sally’s paintings are a part
of many corporate and private
collections both domestic and
international and have been exhibited in
numerous galleries across Canada
including some close to Oakville,
Ontario where she now resides and does
most of her studio painting. Sally has
painted with such notable Canadian
artists as Adrian Dingle, Hilton Hassell,
Carl Sheaffer and Jack Pollock. She was
a member of the board of directors of
the Mississauga Arts Council, Visual
Arts Ontario and the Society of Canadian
Artists of which she is now a lifetime
member. She has mentored many students
and conducted painting workshops both in
her studio and on art excursions both
within and outside Canada.
