Bio

Sally Durie is a well-respected, award winning Canadian artist.  Her diverse subject matter includes landscapes, still life and floral subjects.  She has sketched and painted in many parts of the world, but Canadian scenes using acrylic to depict aesthetic realism is her preference.  She has been described as a Canadian artist who captures both the mood of the moment inviting the observer to stop, gaze and become part of what the artist saw and felt at a given place and time.  Sally’s paintings are a part of many corporate and private collections both domestic and international and have been exhibited in numerous galleries across Canada including some close to Oakville, Ontario where she now resides and does most of her studio painting.  Sally has painted with such notable Canadian artists as Adrian Dingle, Hilton Hassell, Carl Sheaffer and Jack Pollock.  She was a member of the board of directors of the Mississauga Arts Council, Visual Arts Ontario and the Society of Canadian Artists of which she is now a lifetime member.  She has mentored many students and conducted painting workshops both in her studio and on art excursions both within and outside Canada.
