| My
paintings strive to evoke a sense of time
and place. As an avid traveler, I have painted
and sketched in the U.K, France, Spain,
Italy, Portugal, Mexico, North Africa, Hawaii,
South American, Israel, Egypt, and also
throughout Ontario, Quebec, Arizona, the
Carribean and the Maritimes. Algonquin Park
is currently a favourite location as is
Rattray Marsh in Mississauga.
In my urban paintings, I try to capture
the atmosphere and energy of older neighborhoods.
My goal is to evoke an emotional response
to my landscapes and recreate the sense
of joy and peace I feel in the outdoors.
I'd like the viewer to look at one of my
winter scenes and feel they can see their
breath or hear water flowing over stones.
